Inambé…
Yó!
waku nan kongo…
Wa!
ama-maleku…
Maleku Sá!

A old congolese war cry,
that lives on,
atop that antillian isle.
remnants of a day
before it was Afro-Cuban heritage,
before it just sounded odd
Before the sugarcane
and before the middle pasage.
When all across the mother continent
neighboring tribes heard that cry
across the jungle,
or from a nearby hill.
Neighboring feet quivered
and nieghboring blood curdled.
Inambé…
Yó!!

JoseMarti~
Would you mind offering an interpretation of the war cry for us ?
Thank you for sharing.

I'd like to understand the war cry.
This is nice writing, Jose

Actually, I don't know what it means, I've only heard it, and seen this cry performed by Afro-cuban dance companies.
