Today is his birthday If only I could wish it happy Or sing it to him But he isn't here We met on the phone He said his name was James We talked every night But now he isn't here I do believe I loved him He used to call me bunny He doesn't call me bunny anymore Because he isn't here He called me on Decmeber 17th To tell me he was leaving He didn't know where, but I do I know that he isn't here I wish I could tell him One last time, with tears All that he really meant to me But he isn't here He called again on March 3rd- -My birthday He was in Wisconsin then He wasn't here He sang me Happy Birthday I cried the whole time Then the call got disconnected And he still isn't here I haven't heard from him since I wish I knew where he was So I could sing him Happy Birthday And tell the man who isn't here that I love him. ~Alicia A.
