I live in a waking dream,
Halfway between fantasy and reality.
Something deepr lies beneath me,
Just beyond the realm of my perception.
Through this half-conceived existence I wander,
Searching for some true meaning.
The pounding of some ancient drum
Matches my heartbeat,
And I echo an age-old cry for freedom.
Walk through my waking dream,
And see imagination mingle with pragmatism.
Tatooed on your person is your identity,
But the ink shall run
And you will no longer be you.
Arise from the waking dream,
Search for your own truth elsewhere.

Very interesting poem. I guess our search for our true selves lasts a lifetime.

Thank you all for your interest in my meager work. Someday, I hope to rise from my own waking dream and realize that there is some kind of reality beyond what I've perceived.
