Cold Days

I sense the cool breeze coming
static unleashed my dry thoughts
a quietness in the atmosphere
and crispness in the walk

I feel the cold wind coming
pushing forth the clouds
the bleakness of the outcome
is marching torward me now

I feel the sharpness of the air
the smell of moth, now scents my wear
snuggling deep within my hood
drizzling rain, now makes it's claim

Looking at the breaking clouds
sun peaking through the trees
knowing that the warmth within
will subdue the winter's beak

The sound of rain remain outside
the fire burns bright within
peanut's parched and popcorn balls
makes winter days my friend

I wish it would get cold here...I'm tired of triple-digit weather every day.  Good read.

Dear Marcy; This is so beautifully done. You've painted such a realistic picture with your poetic pen. I hate winter, but you make it sound so inviting! Love, Ellie

that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Marcy,
You're really on a roll gal, Another excellent descriptive narrative, describing the harsh conditions but making the best of them, a heart warming read!

Marcy~

If I were to like the winter cold -
which I don't ...
I would particularly like this line -

'a quietness in the atmosphere
and crispness in the walk'

Literally, COOL writing !
Enjoyed it, hon.

You paint a warm and cozy picture with your words, It would seem you are a private person within, this reeks of warmth and happiness of a person at peace with her self.
