Dennis' poem about Poets on the Internet made me unearth the following.

THE INTERNET

We spoke of many things, even rain in fall,
sitting all together, feet upon the floor.
Lights were dim, music on, breeze through open door,
laughing in spite of humour sometimes poor.

What remains in memory as years roll far away?
Food we ate, sparkling wine, social grace displayed
or people in disguise, never being the same,
meeting in the street, “how are you today”?.

In my thoughts, silently, I now reach into minds
unearthing buried tresures I never hoped to find.
The people that I meet, ingrained and tuned to fine,
remain forever constant, standing by my side.

My world a little screen, my friends merely names,
hopes and wishes of my heart, words upon a page.
Through rain and howling wind I never bend to change
but stay until eternity…….. tied to ”The Internet”!!

Ah the internet is the best place in the world to meet new people I like the way you said it

What I write and others read is your own experiance and perceptions.

Honey Bunch,
Yes! The internet is our window to the world (God forbid the power goes out) where we met and touch lives with our words and wit! Good observations!

Playful shadows dance

Maria, Yes, I agree and wonder how I lived before my pc!!

Pegasus,  Hmm?  Sometimes maybe not too safe but certainly "interesting"!

Dennis,     You should see me panic when something goes wrong with the computer..like being abandoned!!

Thank you all for your comments.

Reminds me of the last time my network went down...I thought I was going to need serious medication...luckily, I remembered I could go outside...but it still wasn't a replacement for coming here and reading poems like this.  I like it a lot.

Thank you, Denise and Gofor42.  Oh yes, the world of our minds - wonderful place!  I hope they never come up with an antidote.
