i was writing.
i was listening.
watching.
i was thinking
in the darkness...
because the darkness
understands me.
without a verbal word--
without a mutter,
without a sound,
it calls to me.
it holds me
with a cold embrace
and i feel warmth.
it chills me
with its breath
and i feel comfort.
it makes echoes
of my tears
and i hear song;
music so sweet
as laughter...
the darkness
steals my breath
when i try to speak.
it screams in my ear
when i listen.
it steals the ink
from my pen
making me write words
with my tears.
the darkness
beats me up;
it understands me.

Slightly different for you.

I enjoy the solitude of the night ...

Dee are you ready for the applause, well it's deafening. Girl this is so brilliant, even better than your best. If I was the jealous type I'd be frothing at the mouth now. What you do with a word takes me several pages. Yet another really amazing poem! Take care, I love this, 'Bubbles'

Dee had to come back for another read. I knew you'd get it frothy bubbles, can't slide one past you can I. I've got this stuck on the 'puter, just because it's so good. The applause is still going on and on.

Dang, it seems in this poem that you truely listen to darkness, dg. But do NOT listen all of the time, for it'll lead into trouble, and most wouldn't want that.
