Maria, I see this not a lover waiting but a mighty tree, standing there proud, providing shelter from the wind, shade from the sun, and maybe even fruit in its season. I can imagine the first green buds in the spring and the brilliant display of colors in the fall. Yes, a faithful sentry, standing, protecting in near silence in dedicated service.
