PEACE My world was dark, then there was light, the grey in between wasn’t heaven’s delight but surpassing it all is the peace I now feel, surrounding and holding as mist I can’t see. I breathe of its freshness, feeling of wetness, my lungs overfill but I’m loath to exhale. I hold it inside till it gets in my blood and slowly it creeps through all of my bones. Feeling light as a feather, a helium balloon, my spirits lift up, seem to fly to the moon. My gait is unchanged, my eyes are still blue, I smile and I frown and weigh still the same. So where did it go, that weightless deep mist that sits in my heart and swirls in my mind? Maybe it walked sure and firm in its step straight to my soul on need’s carpet of red. True to my form I’ll play hostess of note, my name might appear in “places to dine”. I’ll cuddle and coddle and be so polite but if that doesn’t work, I’ll hit it for nine! |

Wow...for your first post this is a true masterpiece!!!  Beautiful job, Honey!  And welcome to the Pub--hope you like it here, we're a nice crowd really...we don't bite (well, at least I don't bite)! Thank you, Marge. I am indeed having a wonderful journey although sometimes waves of emotion threaten stability. However, the joy of reading the poetry makes up for it. Thanks again. |
