The Silencer

Once,
you edged near
til buried inside,
reality weakening
my frivolity.

I was absorbed,
my essense guarded
within bonds of acceptence,
strengthening my reserve.

Without restraint
you sheltered,
veins pulsed hunger,
my face a radiance
of serenity.

Pooled reflection
in your dark eyes
spoke volumes.
As the blind
reads braille,
so you touched
the blushed pages
of my cheek
in verbless carress,
as one quietly confessing.

Now ill-used;
white, crisp pages,
once speaking to me
become curl-edged parchment
with no voice.

Ink fades into
illegible smudges
of nonchalance.

chanson~
