Somewhere... out there...

'are you ok'
a lie...'yes'
and I smile
   in reassurance
denying the pain
   in my soul
but look closer
do you see my eyes
the truth is written there-
   the loneliness I feel...
   the acceptance I long for...
but how could you know
you didn't see my eyes-
   I wish you had

How few really look at us, and try to get to know the real person. This poem is so sad and so lovely. ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

some see and dont want to..some dont see and later wish they had..

keep your eyes open..thats where the honesty of the heart lies for those who would see..

Oh how I wish the world would learn to look at the windows to a person's soul. So many see my wheelchair and forget about the person in the wheelchair. Thanks for sharing.

It's a rare and wonderful thing when someone is able to see into anothers soul!
And it's so sad when they don't.....
You said it well Vicky
