I never kept any pictures of her
I burned them all
hoping to burn her memory out of my mind
no pictures
no reminders
no memories
her face lost to me, unknown to my heart

I never kept any pictures of her
save this one
I must have forgotten about it
so happy
so warm
so loving
the love in our faces shining for all to see

I won't keep any pictures of her
not even this one
I'll rip it up and throw it away
no reminders
no memories
no pain
but there's one picture I can't destroy

the picture in my mind. . .

Sven,

How well I know this feeling. Even when the day will come that the picture becomes blurred something will happen and the pictures in our mind will once again become crystal clear and as painful as ever. If only it was as easy to destroy the pictures of the mind.

Time is the eraser hun. Just call it a really SLOW darn thing! Kind of like those erasers on pencils that get old and hard and don't erase all that well, and it feels like you arm is gonna fall off before you get it erased!

A picture is worth a thousand words and the memories are hard to erase. A touching poem, Sven. Solemn.... but I enjoyed your words none the less.

Sven,

Still have a pic?  Why?  If it is so painful and all.  This is intriguing . . .

Sometimes you walk through the graveyard of your mind....and find images that you can't erase...they just fade a little.

Best wishes
