Firstly thanks to kelieth for writing this poem with me, I had great fun working with him. This poem was born in a chat room, totally improvished and written in one take. It was great fun watching this poem develop. After the first few lines I realised we had something special and begin copying what was written. kelieth agreed that we were on to something special, thank you my poetic friend for a wonderful time last night. I really enjoyed making poetry together. Apologises for the length of the piece but we were having so much fun.

Merging Voices

Silence lies dead and wasted,
thus the sound has been tasted,
crawling on echoing stones and mute epitaphs.
As the fury of words feel the wrath,
Silence to silence slip your tongues into oblivion,
little children murmur one last unheard song.
Never knowing hence what's been done wrong.,
with their words they call upon,
elders scream for the ravages of death
and yet and yet
even if the end is known the heart
it still warmed with the cry of a baby born,
to live the life thus vastly torn
Between the morals and the words
Of the elders from hence they've learned.

They can voice their wisdom and their concern
But history washes over all words will be destroyed.
Another wasted tale yet told,
Life again will thus grow cold,
for the ones whom live long.
Mother I have all my life to live
but without purpose I just can't give
I watch the world spin aimlessly choked on the big wheel,
See the lives death does heal
The ones life won't steal,
See the anguish in the eyes,
the mournful voice of babies cry.
Father what you may say
all your promises decay,
Morphine son, heroin sister hold me cheaply
Someone price my life, speak my vocals
Fading to numb ears I am drifting aimlessly
For days, for years for the tears you may drink
Listen drunkenly……to no one not me.

Thus your eyes open see the pain horrifically,
Too much modernization in this world.
We kill off more than we build,
What's to be left here with the children gone we hold dear.
See them on the streets in their box
Hear their mournful cry at night
Feel the blood flow and stain
In the streets they die in vain.
Here I am, here I stay I was made for faith
designed for little love or abuse.
Then what joy brings to use
With no love in the heart of you
Is no pain part of life,
Everyday a constant strife
With battles at the door
Win one more and mark the score.
Her name is hope she holds me
Her name is peace she calms me
Her name is death she nurses me.

May she hold you close to your chest
And guide you gracefully with each step
Through the place of your birth
May you feel her strength on earth.
With the silence do I not exist
with my empty shadow will I not be missed?
Kiss me tell me there is love to taste
Life so precious to waste you to hold
And live through…need survival…
need the moment…need your mouth.
Your existence precious and rare
As the storms within the air
will always linger on
some will shudder but one tear
know the taste of life,
precious enough to live past strife,
Sturdy enough to break a wall,
Loud enough the world will hear its call,
as I look at you and see your heart
look at mine thus in part
as it goes through the wounds
of what I've seen
the anguish and pain there's no blocking.
Sleep tonight, together forever, destroy words, passages
create poetry with breath, we sing in the silence.

Let us end the violence the raised insult
Wielded sharp or blunt action or static
Peace resounds in our measures. Hold me
two to one, one mind one voice……talk
through me and leave me speechless.
When the minds come as one.
Let the voice be kept from none,
allow the speech to carry on to stop
the violence for everyone.
Let the song of children heard
And let us listen to every word.
They tell the story of the world
as they play their mournful hurt.
Carefully listen to every word,
They speak to us of abuse, rape or misuse
Of so many tools god's given,
Why have so many evils risen?
Will there ever be a day when the evil's stripped away?
Left for all the humble good the ones whom can
and greatly would
give to the world again once call again it friend.

Hush this lush sadness, let's kneel
upon the coals, just shadow me, offer protection.
Wrapped the shroud of love around your shoulders,
If we live then the miseries will resolve,
In this space there is nothing we can not solve.
My shell once cracked has grown a spine,
that structure is you. I need you here
and attentive loving and responsive.
I'll listen while your words flow,
comfort you as we go and love everything you know.
If only more would chose to go through the road we have found
Where love is listening and healing is abound.

This, I just...wow.  I'm definitely putting this one away to read again.  It held my attention throughout the whole poem (something I find hard sometimes in longer pooetry) and was amazing.  Thanks for sharing this
