Yesterday's Weeds

Did you see the roadway back there?
I missed it too but felt it swallow me,
who's fiddle could I have played anyway?

Welcome mat of many denials inhabits,
trudges over me like yesterday's weeds,
can you taste the acid rain born in me?

Laid before full moon's captured breath,
left crying the howl as emptiness calls,
have you seen the ferocious lion roar?

It's me, I spit at their feet begging notice
a lowly creature stripped of earthly worth,
when the beam of light darkens I'm gone.

Incredible piece, Dreamer. Sad, yes, but that is part of life.

Ria,

I know you are sad right now. You have great friends who will be there for you during anything. You did a great job with this piece.

LD, Truly well written. Sad.. but we learn from our unpleasant situations and move on, wiser, though feeling weak-stronger! A wonderful job of writing.  Marcy

Lost Dreamer,
This is a sad poem, one of rejection and despair, but as long as you are surronded by GOOD friends that beam of light will NEVER darken, We won't allow it! Your poem is a good expression of loss but it hints of hope, grab it and hold on!

The title caught my eye. Like! Well written indeed.
I especialy liked how you wrapped it up..
"when the beam of light darkens I'm gone."
