When I reached deep down inside,
I found a child who likes to hide,
I bade him to come out and play,
But in the dark he chose to stay.

"What are you afraid of?" I dared to ask,
He slipped into his sullen mask,
Away he scampered into the dark,
Avoiding any sunlit arcs.

"I am your friend, your own roommate,
What e'er befalls, I share your fate,
Come take my hand and let's discuss,
What ever is to become of us!"

In the shadows, he did linger,
Then slowly reached to touch my finger,
Put his tiny hand in mine,
A moment, a connection, so divine!

But shortly lasted this soul communion,
His hand drew back and broke this union,
But while together, he did implore,
"What do you want to be a grown-up for?"

This is a really awesome piece, Dennis.

"In the shadows, he did linger,
Then slowly reached to touch my finger,
Put his tiny hand in mine,
A moment, a connection, so divine!"

For the first time I think I am at a loss for words..the only one that comes to mind is what she said "WOW"......beth

Dennis,

This is great. Reminded me to enjoy life and not let my worries overwhelm me. Thanks for the much needed reminder.

Dear Dennis; This beautifully written poem
has touched me deeply. I've spent long years
learning to get in touch, and finally embrace my inner child, who was terribly wounded. This healing gave me back my childhood, in a healthy way, and I thank God for it. Love, Sis

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Oh Boy Dennis could I relate to this one!  Beautiful job, now if I could just get that little kid inside to take my hand for awhile.  But, on the other hand....that last question is a pretty good one.  Bonnie
