Think Twice

Forgive and forget what was said in the past
The words that offended were not meant to last
Our comments are not etched in granite, and yet
The heart will recall what the mind will forget

Before you proceed with a rude word or act
That once said and done you can never retract
Whether you are the giver or reaper of scorn
Itís a permanent deed you forever will mourn

This is very true...It reminds me of what my mom said to me as a child "Think before you speak"..I must admit that I am still working on it as an adult! Great piece.....beth

Wonderful wisdom here, Liz! I know I can always use this lesson, and you put it to poetry so beautifully! Love, ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.
