A Poet In My Soup There's a poet in my soup an author in my drink. Lover in my daydreams ice skates in my roller rink. Preacher in my living room sharpshooter on my stool. A clown in my bedding dismay in my gene pool. Firemen in the basement plumbers on the roof. Insanity in my family I have pictures for proof. Excuse me, there's a poet in my soup rhymes crawling about my spoon. Ex-lover in my daydreams midnight teasing my noon. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ another archival piece... written in 1988 when i was putting together my first "real" manuscript...this is the title piece. Perhaps it's lack of redeeming social value set the stage for the manuscript... bleeding... "Tis ink coming from his arm, Captain!" |
