She drifts by
on gossamer wing,
orange and black
are her colors,
that delight
the eye.
Patterned wings
so intricate,
one perfectly
matching the
other.
She's the first
that I've seen
this summer.
My heart leaps
with joy,
knowing I have
witnessed a
miracle
of God's creation
on this beautiful
summers day!

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Oh Ellie, how perfectly you have described one of those little wonders.  Now I'm going to whine 'cause I haven't seen one yet!!!  This is so uplifting and sweet.  Bonnie

Ellie,
Your eye for nature and your tender words of the aesthetic beauty that sorrounds us and gives us pause to appreciate the handicraft of our Creator. Thank You.

ellie-
   I haven't actually seen a monarch
in quite some time, but you have
   certainly painted a beautiful
picture of one in my mind.
   Thank you.

Ellie,
I'm sure this was a special treat-seeing as how you like butterflies so much.  You will always be to me my special butterfly friend-God bless you with many more sightings!
