Do you know who I am? Have you seen me before? I can assure you that I've seen you more! I've been watching you for quite a while, And just seeing you can make me smile. I've watched you as you're fast asleep, Tried to be close as you're dreaming deep. I've watched you get up at the rise of the sun, Or whenever your day has begun. I try and hide as you go through your day, Watching you move about, every which way, See as you eat your afternoon meal (I must confess, sometimes I steal some of your food when you're looking away...  )I try and protect you and do my best, But sometimes I fail, when I try to rest You get hurt--like that cut on your knee! Do you think you could forgive me? I'm sorry for when I've let you down, The times when you're angry, or when you frown At the way that life's been going for you-- I wish I could've helped you there, too. Your guardian angel and I both work To give your life a little more perk! ____ ____ ____ ____ ____ ____ ____ ____ ____ I am the dragon that stays by your side, You can't always see me, in that I confide; I just felt like leaving this note for you there, To let you know that I really do care. Hey, everyone!!  I'm back! Led showed me the replies he got to his post for me (you're the best, Led!) and I can't thank you guys enough...this poem started out as what was going to be a thank-you, but turned out to be something else entirely...well, hope you like it, and it's great to be back! Have you ever read something and wondered who it was written for? Or thought it resembled someone you knew? This is some piece of work. I enjoyed this very much. You have a great talent. I understand you were sick and gone for some time. I can understand why you were missed so. Debbie L. Hoskins |

Thanks, everyone, this really cheers me up! My ailment has flared up again, I can barely type...the thing about this is that, one moment you're fine, the next moment, well, very much less so. But I feel a lot better reading through the poems here! You guys are great!  Little Spyro T. Dragon |
