I could never decipher love,
its strange symbols
complex codes
wordless whispers.
What do they all mean?
Am I blind to the slight
artistry of body language?

They are strange creatures,
opiates that intoxicate on sight.
Their waves of communication
trickle in slight gesture.
The brush of an eyelid
maybe incidental or monumental
a casual stare could freeze
the heart or destroy sanity.
Does she love or lust notice or not?
Oh such riddles unfathomable.
There is a clear virtue in isolation

My spoken words carry little weight,
each syllable is devoured in background noise,
broken and with dying patience drowning.
Subtitle text would be my saving grace,
in the chaos she could explore the beauty
Of poetry my tenderness my faults my thoughts
not this fool eyes cast down feeling awkward.

Hey Brian,
I love this poem, it really pin points the way I myself feel inside.
Love sure is complicated, but after seeing your photo I'm sure you never have a shortage of different girls asking you out!
Keep writing!
Michelle.

Very nicely done!  My feelings precisely... It just sucks when you try to assert yourself and your words come out weak and quickly devoured by, and into, nothingness nowhere...I think we all keep looking for something deeper and more meaningful something sure, something pure, but the Big Guy didn't make this love thing a cake walk, thats for damn sure.  Again, my hat off to you.

Hey Brian,
If you don't mind me asking, but do you live in Dublin?  That's such a stunning city, I travel there regularly.
By the way, I love reading your poetry, you'll be famous one day.
Am I correct in thinking you are a student?
Actually I'm not a little charmer, I just like saying nice things to people to make them feel good.  There are too many nasty people around today!!  Anyway that's enough from the little charmer!
Kind regards - Michelle

This speaks volumes of how difficult it is to express oneself to others with out the constant fear of feeling a fool.  I to, feel this way all the time. . . sigh

Superb expression, my friend, wonderfully done.

Michelle, never say I can not. TRy please try. Well all have to start somewhere. My college is in Dun Laorighe, I am studying "Animation." I love temple bar too, a great place to drink and get drunk in.

dgvarner, what can I say!?! a cat fight, please no lady's, thinkj about it am I really worth fighting over, is any man for that matter? I knew something like this would happen when i show my sensitive side, that is why I wish I could use subtitles in clubs, my voice can't raise really loud.

Pout, a cat fight in my honour!?! You do realise that you are appealing to my most manly desire now, to see two women fight over me, there is only one way to improve upon this but it involves nudity. And I am wise and I know when to let such ideas die. LOL. See you have released the brutish man in me, next I will cursing at the tv and throwing beer cans at people. LOL

~Brian,...allow me to sneak in here with my comment. No scratching please, ladies.  . Bri,...you are a really neat person...do you know that?...This poem and it's honesty...it's open and raw expression of the true feelings...mmmm. You take the cake for this one. How very truly brave of you to expose this awkwardness...that I think we all feel at one time or another. This is great. Wishing well. *Peace.
