Outdoor Mansion

Summer's breeze on my arm,
As I watch on the farm,
City street just ahead,
The city came with much dread,
Gone are the days of seclusion,
For me it means inclusion,
Many fought this expansion,
Because of it, the world's my mansion.

This is a really good poem Callie!  How sad that the cities are taking over...it's hard to even hear yourself think anymore with all the noise!  Keep posting!....beth

Callie, Wonderful first post, I enjoyed, brings to my mind that word progress that seems to take over and steal what was once beauty.

Welcome to Passions, please check your mail for a special message.

Callie~
Sometimes the growth is not such
a bad thing at all, is it ?
I got the feeling that others may have
objected, but you found the expansion appealing because it expanded your enjoyment in some way.

Am I correct ?

I wanted to thank everyone for their replies. Marge, I do enjoy the expansion the city brings because with it brings sidewalks and subdivisions. Without the expansion I would have to stay on the 10 acre farm because I am disabled and dont drive. With the sidewalks I can be free to be me.

Welcome to the Pub... Very well written and I'm looking forward to seeing more by you..

With a little piece of tomorrow,
You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye.
Because today won't last forever,
And the past will only make you cry.

Callie,

From one "newbie" to another...a warm welcome!  I've always slightly resented "progress" but can now understand that there is another side to it.  Be well!

I like this Callie...I read more into it than what you profess...but that's because of the soul behind "these" eyes...

very good!
