Colours ripple and merge into a blur
Images vanish in the forming light
And, awakening, I lose sight of her
A lady fading with the end of night.
Fragments reflect our dance and embrace
Shaped by emotions amazingly strong.
I try in vain to recall her face
Sure only that her hair was flowing long.
Her sorrow salved with warmth in love-linked hearts
We stood together alone, music played...
I rise now, and the falling dream departs
Though, unnoticed, some memories have stayed.

One day, those distant echoes may be why
I turn, to take the road less travelled by.

Hi all! Just thought I'd dip my foot in for the first time with this sonnet...

Wow! Thanks for all those kind comments. I certainly look forward to spending more time here (in between writing a 20000 word thesis this summer). This certainly seems like a friendly place to be
