black velvet blossoms
delicate to the touch
the beauty
       of the rose
cloaked in mysterious
             darkness
what secrets lie beneath
             the sable veil
a fragrance so honest
yet concealed
       behind an ebony mask
why does it hide
perhaps in fear
    perhaps
        the fear of honesty itself
as you search for an answer
        handle with care
for fragile
       is the honest fragrance
                  of the rose

you have not truly met the poet  -vlraynes

vlraynes, This is absolutely fabulous, never really thought of it the way you present it here.

Honesty a noble trait,
There for all to display.

Great piece.  I'll be reading this in years to come.

VLRaynes~
Could not resist the title -
and was stunned by the beauty I found within.

'the beauty
       of the rose
cloaked in mysterious
             darkness
what secrets lie beneath
             the sable veil'

A beautiful render.
