[NOT REALLY- but I'm kind of looking
         forward to it--DW]

I'm into my 2nd childhood
And really having a blast,
I'd forgotten how much fun it was
It was so far in my past!

But now it's coming back to me
As I lose my hair and other things,
Who wants to be old and responsible--
When this "wild and free" really swings!

And I have the advantage
Of those first time arounders,
My parents aren't here to hinder
Restrain or restrict when I flounder.

Oh yes, I'm embarrassing others
Who are part of my life right now,
But all in all, they still love me
Bemused by my youthful recall.

So I'm immature for my age
Would you rather that I just be dead?
Let me enjoy these great days
For I've not many left up ahead!

I'm into my second childhood
And the toys are more fun these days,
I'm glad I waited to re-enlist
Come join me in the fun of my craze.

Don't call me a senior citizen
I'm a recycled teen-ager, and how!
Now that I've got my second wind--
I find that life can be a Ball!

Ya know, I think you've got something here David....

"Oh yes, I'm embarrassing others
Who are part of my life right now,
But all in all, they still love me
Bemused by my youthful recall."

My kids (24 & 21) seem to be having a bit of a problem with this....Go figure!!!!   Great poem.  Bonnie

David: Great attitude! You're only as young as you feel. Getting old is only a state of
mind anyway. I love this poem and I'm in 100% agreement here, bro. love, ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Yes, age is a state of mind. There are too many people in this world who let life pass them by with such a serious attitude. Life is what you make it and can be enjoyed while taking on serious matters. They say laughter is the best medicine and a smile will change your whole attitude. Great poem, I will always keep it in mind.

David~

Into the sandbox of my youth
I choose to sift again ...
but the days would not be sweet
without the joy of friends.

Lots of gaiety and laughter
fill the soul of my playground.
With friends to join the merriment,
I want to spin the merry-go-round.

Come one - come all
the playground is never closed !

A delightful look at staying
youthful of heart and mind, David.

I feel better now.  I'm not the only adult kid!!  I've never grown up (although I have slowed down a little - lol) and I hope I never do.  Children definitely have the right idea!!  Good poem.

David,

My physical body, can't stay up with my mental body much anymore, but I am all heart, when it comes to acting like a 10 yr.old. I am very young in heart and soul.

Enjoy it while you can!

GBU!
