What is this world coming to
when you can't feel safe at school
and then when you make it home
There's no one to come home to?

Why is it that one cannot find
real love and true peace of mind?
And has it always been this way-
or symptomatic of the world's decline?

Where is truth, I'd like to know
so many lies just grow and grow
it's hard to know who your true friends are
and so don't dare let your feelings show.

The question thus, comes down, you see
What shall I do for reality?
if I thus seek a better world--
I'll have to make it start with me!

I seek to be me-
and all I can be!

This is very well written and I don't envy you being a kid in these times, but you are amazingly wise for someone of your generation. Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

Euclid~
With thoughts like those you've displayed here,
I'd say this world just might come to
a better place !

'The question thus, comes down, you see
What shall I do for reality?
if I thus seek a better world--
I'll have to make it start with me!'

Wonderful aspirations !
You CAN change the world ...
one heart at a time.
Good luck in your quest !

Hey Euclid, Starting with you is a great idea!  This poem is a sad depiction of the times we live in, but what a wonderful outlook... Very well written.  Bonnie

Hopefully your generation will realize that children and family are much more important than a fancy house, two cars and a hawaii vacation....none of that will be remembered in fifty years, but what will be remembered is that mom and dad weren't around...hopefully your generation will realize what really matters when you have kids of your own...Great Poem!

Great poem, Euclid.  If more people lived by the 'start with me' concept, the world would be a much better place.  You CAN make it better.

The question that plagues what happened to old fashioned love.  Great writing.

I must say, very nice piece of work. Very well chosen vocabulary as well. Also, so true to the real world. Really makes one stop and think.Good work, keep it up.
