I look up into the night
Beholding an awesome sight
The sky is filled with shining stars
Like lightning bugs in little jars
Now is their time to shine
They have theirs like I have mine

Each has its own space
They are never out of place
Constellations can be their dwelling
All have a story worth telling
Beautiful images that alight
In their prime they burn bright

As all of us surely know
Everyone has a time to go
Stars have their moment then they die
Ceasing to shine in the vastness of the sky
Whenever you wish upon a shooting star
Your dreams will travel very far

What a lovely poem!  That Disney song "when you wish upon a star" is in my head now!  I am glad to know that someone else out there looks at the star-filled sky and dreams away..like me!

I like this... terrific poem

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.
