buzz buzz buzz-
-zing in my ears, an eyeful of moon
It is a starless cloak tonight.
I watch as the clouds roil and shift
the wind picking them up and stirring
them in the watery sky
the wind conducts the leaves in
delightful string quartet, the
sound such that if I close my eyes
I imagine I am beside the ocean.
but i'd rather look at the clouds.
they unveil a small ball of fire
bright - bright -
brighter almost than the moon
maybe it's because it has burned
my eyes with my staring
my lips move in time to
a wish gone to seed within me
wishing... wishing that the love I
bear could become the contagion
that will spread from my lips to his
to make him never stop kissing
a step behind me carries a voice
"Wow.  There's Venus."
Such a trifling goddess:
to tempt a mortal girl higher and higher
with Hope, to cajole her and woo her into
Love, only to prove in the end no more
than a deceiving planet.

Is that love that you're describing? Because if it was, then you did a rather fine job in this poem, Wendy.

Wow, Venus, god of love, such a lovely poem, my heart's moved by your words.. you are such a imaginative female (in a good way of course)

not through itself,
but through the creatures
dwelling within its bosom.
