Nature's Honor

The opening
well defined
like starlight
over a meadow,
no signs
or warnings
of danger
so I tread in
cautiously.

The trees
interacting
with each other
in swaying action.
Little birdies
fluttering in flight
from limb
to limb graciously.

Chipmunks
scurry through
the leaves
trying to stay
hidden,
their paradise
invaded
by my intrusively
thoughtless act.

Looking
for refuge
from myself
I became
an unwanted guest
in the paradisaical
distance
of natures honor.

~Wow,...that last part just says sooo much.  "Looking for refuge from myself I became an unwanted guest",...I like how you took me there with you. So inviting this is in the beginning and then you make it evident the uneasyness (sp) of your invasion. So well written, thanks. Take care. *Peace.

Love this LD, gotta love a poem with chipmunks scurrying around.  I really like the way you ended it too, I never thought of how upsetting it must be to the little critters.  This is wonderful.  Bonnie

I love the gentle ebb and flow of you encounter with nature, intrusive though you were, this is lovely, Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

delightful easy read and an all-too-important message to us all to be careful with the flora and fauna in our earnest encounters with mother nature
like the thoughtfulness here
