Sweet Nature surrounds us,
   Need more time to devote,
It's seasons astound us,
   Where's the big screen remote?

          HER
Spring arrives in full bloom,
upon the windowsill, just for us, love birds sing,
let's bask in the beauty of dawn's melody
but, honey, I'd prefer you buy me a diamond ring

          HIM
   Spring revives hopes, aspirations,
   NBA playoffs do mightily excite,
   Following the high-point leaders,
And the Championship game's a delight!

          HER
Crimson sun shines with all it's glory
picnics in the park, we get lost in a summer song
ice cream becomes our solace from the heat
but, I refuse to be seen in public, if you wear that leopard print thong!

         HIM
   Summers welcome heat wave,
   Baseball battles do wage,
The race is for the Pennant,
Sports Heros on the front page!

          HER
Autumn breezes in
painting a bouquet of rainbows upon the oak trees
setting ablaze our love for each other
but, you'll be sleeping on the couch,if you don't   rake those leaves

          HIM
   Autumns colors are Spectacular
Like the Jerseys of Football teams ,
All mixed up on the line of scrimmage,
   Persuing Super Bowl Dreams!

          HER
Winter snow glistens
capturing the sparkle in your eyes
Christmas is a magical time of year
so, my dear, buy me a mink coat, and I'll pretend to be surprised

          HIM
   Winter's a majestic splendor,
   Sparkling fresh Zamboni ice,
   Hockey season at full throttle,
   Stanley Cup doth entice!

What ever the season,
We're the perfect couple, of course!
He'll never know the reason,
I'm stunned, She wants a Divorce???

Perfect summary of misunderstandings between a man and a woman. So many would be able to relate to this, but I can't yet.

gosh, a poem penned by both of my fellow Haikuists..goody goody!!

a couple that is intimate in distance but not in heart...ditto Chibi's comments...this is realistically accurate poem that most of us can relate to and you both put this message through with such wit and humour!

Hey you guys is this hilariously witty and clever or what? Great job. I enjoyed this so much! Also a sad commentary on what most marriages are like. So many living in "quiet desperation". You both did a terrific job of seeing the funny side and making it into a hilarious poetic delight! Ellie

A Wonderful soap opera Type treat that you two have cooked up and served. It could well be titled: So Near Yet so Far Away! And to some degree, there is a sad basis for it's existence in many marriages.  Sprinkled with humor-the absurdity of it all comes ringing out clearly--Great collaborative effort, Mellisa &nd Dennis.   David

Not experienced in love...but I relished this piece thoroughly! A lil touch of humour in the end was it? I love it! *S*
