The trusses to the old-town bridge are moldy old and rotten.
All the people here have mostly been forgotten.
Hidden from the future, sewed up to the past.
Expecting their town to eternally last.
The buildings tumbled rumbled down.
Dusty boarded window town.....
The world forgot them, left behind the rest.
They don't realize they left behind the best.
The old times when life was hard, but serene.
Unprepared for what the next generation brings.
It’s a sad end to a song,
But the old time morality is gone.

And there she weaves by night and day,
a magic web of colours gay.~Tennyson

This brings back a lot of sweet memories from my summer camp. Thanks for the memories. Maybe someday I'll take a stab at putting those memories into poetry..

Beautiful poem

sometimes I wish nothing more than to live in a world time forgot...you've painted a beautiful picture...

I liked this very much Swåmpy. I have the same nostalgic feelings about that old way of life. My home town, a village really, was like that - when you came back to it it felt like being surrounded by a beautiful warm cocoon. It isn't like that any more, it has 'developed' into a modern town. Sadly. Thanks for putting in words what I'm sure a lot of us feel inside.

a very sad poem on the passing of time, feeled with emotions and feelings of loss. wonderfully written.
