Your branches
Are filled with
Glossy green leaves
An ordinary looking
Bush or small tree
Easily taken for granted
Sometimes we forget that
Seasons change unnoticed
What's ordinary to today
Can become magnificent tomorrow

You are the perfect example
Of how easy it is to overlook
The wonders of the ordinary
In your quiet uniqueness
You are blessed in June
A time for brides
A time when
From among
Your dainty leaves
Spring forth
Bouquets of white blossoms
Announcing quietly still
Your presence
Silently
Tickling
The buds
Of our olfactory senses
Bidding us
To seek
To find
To view
The beauty
You've become.

Dear sweet friend; I love this poem! I adore gardenias because they remind me of my mother, When I would visit her in Florida. She had a gardenia bush and I would put the flowers in my room and wake up to that incredible scent.
This poem is as lovely as you and the flower!
Ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

My favorite fragranced flower.
You've described it so perfectly.
Lovely writing.

Septsong a poem as beautiful as the flower it's written about.  I could smell their sweet scent.  Bonnie
