All these words
From the hearts of many
Together in verse
Pen to paper
Finger to key

Prose so captivating
Rhymes of thought
Verse so free
Structured haiku
For all to read

Straight from the heart
Skipping across our brains
Human words all do hold the key
Thoughts of mystery
So deeply true

Poem is a creature
Running so deep
Happiness and joy
Hurt and pain
All intertwined

Touching
So moving
Vivid and real
Eloquently put
Captivatingly sweet

Intention to hold
Elusive and free
Thought provoking
Giving of feelings
Surrender to tears

Powerful
Expressive
Lovely
Intrusive
Beautiful

With all this stated
Through Everything said
Relating to everyone
Across paper with pen
Ones ode to the poem

< !signature-->

"Creation of woman from the rib of Man: She was not made from his head to top him; nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him; but out of his side

Excellent!!

An ode to odes
A ballad about ballads
An epic epic
A sonnet to the sonnet. . .

You get the idea!!!  Great poem!!

That is the best view of poetry and prose that I've ever seen.   Loved every line.

a wonderful poem, to the top of the page.
Intention to hold
Elusive and free
Thought provoking
Giving of feelings
Surrender to tears
everything poetry should be.

I think you described the poem best in your own words....
Powerful
Expressive
Lovely
Beautiful

eye-catching title, attracting this reader eager to read your poem

lovely sentiments here...moi think you have expressed the different ways poetry can touch us very well indeed love "finger to key" cos these three words express how a good poem can open up our hearts like the metaphor of poem to a creature running deep cos isnt writing poetry difficult for us all?the stubborn words that refuse to form...Writer's Block...writing about the things that hurt...etc

like the ending too...summed everything up so beautifully

for you
An Ode to the Verse

Aspiring poet
           Immersed

Searing pain
           Nursed

a favor to ask of you: i have written a Poetry's Beauty Tanka in Open#8..will love your comments here since they work on the same lines thanx in advance

heres wishing you have success in trying out new styles!!
