Could Be Anywhere...

Trickle Down
Sitting on old, car seat throne
surveying back yard kingdom.
The rain comes suddenly
with it’s giant drops
that pock and drown the dry.

Siam princess
bobs and weaves
her ears back and tail puffed.
She jumps hunched, compacted
dashing for cover.

Little birds peeking
from steel cave home
chatter accusingly.
Saying, “Oh Man,
You giveth water, food,
protect from Hawk...
yet You allow our nests to wet?”

Elvis, the so called
weenie, wonder dog
explores the diminishing dry.
Turns suddenly
ends almost meet
as he dives back to safety.

And yet, i rejoice
as water flows, batters
wetting smoke and filling cup.
Watching the kingdom
“Oh Death, where is thy sting?”
laughing with the One who made me.

from his arm,
Captain!"

This was unusual enough to make me stop, read again, laugh and post a reply.
This was good

Hmm.. Very interesting.. It made me stop and re-read it again, just to make sure I got it the first time..    Brought a needed smile to my face.  Thankyou.
