Rattle His Cage

I've heard it all
but now
it's different
only the arrogance
came through
to my ears.

I just wanted
to rattle his cage
didn't mean
to touch him
hey it's just
racing right?

I'm steaming
right now
where's grace
and honor?
Truly oblivious
to this racer.

I'm sorry
today as a fan
of racing
I was angered
by a driver
who rattles cages.

I thank all of you here in advance for letting me vent my anger, I needed this release. I am a big time racing fan of Dale Earnhardt and he was in the lead in the last lap when Jerry Mayfield got under him close enough to touch and almost spin him out. That was not what angered me though, what angered me was his comment in the winner's circle about just wanting to rattle his cage and the arrogance in his voice. Thank God I was not there in person is all I can say. Thanks again for hearing me out.

It's good to see writing by anything that moves emotion in any way.

No poetry from the heart is bad.
