Rain falls heavily,
Gives way to pretty flowers,
And summer sunshine.

I am very impressed, this truly is a beautiful haiku, I can picture it!  However, I do have one criticism, please correct me if I am wrong, but I noticed that you are missing something to do with Winter in your seasonal haiku.

Example:

"Rain falls heavily"  (can pertain to Autumn or Spring)
"Gives way to pretty flowers" (pertaining to Spring)
"And summer sunshine (pertaining to summer)

Yu Lan, I never like to criticize, especially a talented poet such as yourself, but I just had to mention what I have noticed.

Take care,
Melissa Honeybee

good one, yu lan!  its kind of tough getting all 4 seasons in there isnt it!

rain falling could be winter, no? (just thinking on melissas comment..)

anyway, good job!

i also took "rain falls heavily" to mean both autumn and winter....."and gives way to pretty flowers....and summer sunshine".....like the way you show the changes in seasons.....for me, it's like once i bear through cold harsh winter, as a reward i get to experience the joy of flowers and sunshine!

thanx for trying this out, Yu Lan....never read ur haiku before....perhaps u will like to share more with us

YuLan~
I've so enjoyed reading the Haiku's here.
It is a pleasurable artistic form.

I really enjoyed your seasonal haiku!
In some areas, winter means snow, but in others it is only rain. Very clever!
