Love is not love so softly spoken Promising vows already broken Pale pink lies of cloudy deception Wrapping you safely in illusion Whispered but unconvincing emotin Voices carrying no hint of devotion A look, a touch given in haste Love words said, but put to waste Key returned to a desk clerk Honest, honey I was at work A kiss becomes a mere token Love is not love so softly spoken Mystical being which makes ink flow Surround me in your incandescent glow Fill my brain with thoughts and rhyme As I try to capture but a moment in time ~Shan~ |
