Thorn-Bit

such beauty
is the provenance of pain...
as i looked
i beheld a softness;
velvet for my fingertips.
in the morn
i saw a dewdrop
resting peacefully
on your face.
i reached for you
to hold you close
that i might fully
enjoy your beauty--
such beauty
is the provenance of pain;
thorn-bit...

Great poem.  "love hurts" an expression I know well.  Enjoyed it.

Oh, I think I like your's so much more. It's so graceful, and gentle, where mine was more searching to find the beauty, than finding it there so beautifully. Thanks for sharing yours I really enjoyed it.

debbie--thats my favorite line too      velvet...

kit--thanks for the "well done" pat on the back

kelieth--yes..love does hurt..i know it pretty well myself!...but when it feels good, it feels REAL good doesnt it!

lost dreamer--i'm glad you liked it   just 2 different aspects of loves beauty and its way of wounding..i like them both    < !signature-->

DG,
  What a beautiful poem, tender and sweet but with a POINT! Love has it's risk, and beauty has its thorns. Very nice. Dennis :^)

Wow!!   I'm not really sure what to say about this, except to echo the comments of everyone else!   Absolutely beautiful, gorgeous poem! My favorite part was the dewdrop...I've always been fascinated with dew forming in the morning, and I reserve two days a month to just go out there at around five or six A.M. and sit on the grass.

Kind of keeps me in touch with nature, in the midst of all the urban chaos.
