I always was a leader,
Until my sudden heart attack,
Doctor said "Walk the Mall daily",
Now I'm the leader of the Pack!

One more time around the Mall,
As I lead the "Silver Brigrade",
Hope none of my troop will fall,
As we walk the "Senior Parade"!

Fred was a real estate broker,
Bill was an insurance man,
Jill was three pack a day smoker,
All reduced to this pedestrian band.

One more time around this Mall,
Our pace is medium fast,
One more time through this hall,
We pray it won't be our last!

Be kind when you see us walking,
Don't make fun of us as we go,
What an odd bunch, you may be thinking,
You may be joining us before long, you know!

Moonbeams radiate
When the veiling cloud has past
Playful shadows dance

Dennis: I used to work at the Mall, and I would see the walkers that would go by, and I often thought, that'll be me someday!
Terrific poem and great fun to read.
ok, I can't stand it, I have to ask. Is this a true story or musings of what might be?

Dennis - "Leader of the Pack" huh, what images that conjures up! But since you're walking guess the harley is out of the picture. This is terrific, a laugh out loud read. Bonnie
