*yawn*...

...mmmmm...huh?
_____________________________________________________________________

Yesterday I woke up from a sleep
That I'd fallen into, after my weep;
I'd lost someone special, of whom I had cared,
Now that she's gone I'm more than just scared...
It's not just a simple sense of fear
That beckons and burrows in my heart here;
Through my mind the emotion sweeps,
Into my thoughts the feeling seeps...

Memories broken, heart lying bare
Remembering all of the times we did share
Oh, how the visions seem so clear,
Strong enough to bring forth a tear...

When I had heard, I broke down to cry,
Right then and there, I felt I could die;
Such was my sorrow, my anguish and grief--
Until came relief...

________________________________________________

"Knock knock knock!" was the sound at the door,
I sullenly made my way 'cross the floor,
Unlocked the knobs with a turn of the key
And what I did not expect to see was this...

____________________________________________________________

None other was it than a smiling beast,
A dragon resembling my lost one, deceased--
His manner and demeanor seemed such the same,
Even he almost shared my lost one's name...

So how had good fortune come upon me?
Definitely something I couldn't foresee...
Someone who knew I had lost a love
Sent a creature (maybe from above?)

He wasn't exactly like one that I'd lost,
But he was so friendly and kind, that the cost
Of losing the one that I cared for the most
Disappeared slowly
      as he made me some toast
           without a toaster.

This poem originally was not dedicated to anyone--in fact, I'm not even sure where it came from, it just popped into my head one night and I began writing. But now I see that someone here in the Pub has indeed lost a priceless treasure. I hope he finds the relief (in another form, of course!) that's written here.

Sad but sweet little dragon.  Left with a "toasty" feeling.

I like this alot. A little sad but the fact that another had come was sweet. The ending was wonderful. Did he supply marmalade? Love toast and marmalade. Very nice post Spyro.

Little_Spyro; As he awoke, "*yawn*...";
and a sad story too, crafted very well. Why did you choose a smiling beast?

(For I thought you really loved her,..)
"Strong enough to bring forth a tear..."

"None other was it than a smiling beast,
A dragon resembling my lost one, deceased--"

Don't get that warm fuzzy feeling here Spyro, but is that what you intended? Isa.34:13

You write up a good show, kind wise one.marcy

Hi sweet Little_Spyro,
  I love your poetry, just as I enjoyed this poem. My post was a question, not a statement. Forgive me if it sounded harsh, for I was only inquiring if I interpreted as to your meaning.

Your poems are challenging and I look forward to each and every one of them. Even if I don't reply, I usually read them all.
  You are a sweetheart and you are precious. I feel honored you extended information to me via your poem, thank you for your gentleness. I also feel like a jerk for you thinking you should. I will be more careful in my responses to try and reflect my real thoughts.
  May I use my age as a excuse? Extremely stressed this week! (chuckle, kinda, sorta)!
Have all my grandchildren here under one roof for three days? These should qualify for forgiveness? I just love  you little wise one.    Blessings to you my dear, marcy

Aww, thanks Marcy
*blushes*

Well, age is a pretty good excuse!   It'd be nice if it applied to me, I'm only 14 (but I think word of that has spread through the Pub! lol). Thanks for the kind words, it really brightened my day! I've had to do chores 90% of the day and I'm kinda beat...

Hope to read more of your poetry sometime soon!

It's so nice to see you back here on a regular basis, Sam. I'm sooooo glad that school is out! I love your poem, too, of course, but I can't see the picture.
But it's just so great to have you back here!

The pain  I feel.

This poem touches my heart and I hope to see more of your talented work.
