There's a hole somewhere
In my head?
In my heart?
There is a hole somewhere inside me
God, every day now I try to ignore it
I try to pretend it isn't there
I try to fill it with loose sand
And the sand stays
It fills the hole for a while
But once I get up off the comfy chair
Pace a bit..
It's all lost
I've got a big sand pit wherever I go now
Room to room
I walk through
Plugging my ears with loud rock music
With an attempt to suck the hole from my body
It's useless you know
There's only one thing to make that hole go away
What pains me the most though
Is that I have to wait
For time to go by
For healing to take place
Waist high weeds wouldn't stop me
If I could get rid of the hole right now
But I can't
And when you are waiting
You know how time passes so slowly?
Well, time is in engraved in the sand
And I've got enough sand
To burry myself in.

This is a troubling analogy.  It sounds like alot more than a hole has been opened up in this person's life.  It sounds like the bottom dropped out of it.  I read this poem more than once...and it makes me want to pace, or go leaf through things that might distract me.  I know this feeling and it's like a heaviness inside of you.  I think this was the effect that you wanted to achieve, but I hope this is not what you are going through right now.

Thank you Jana.  That was the exact effect I was trying to achieve.  Unfortunately even though sometimes I write what I don't personaly feel, this time I did.  You are so right it's a real bad feeling.  It's way too complicated to drag out here, but thanks for your understanding.  Makes me feel better knowing you've been there as I'm sure others have too.  Thanks again.

Joy (who's not feeling so joyfull right now)

They say that holes in yourself can be filled with pleasurable things. Some do this. Some simply choose to put a cork in them, and some...

Well, in some, the hole only gets bigger...

But I don't think you have that problem, Joy (even your name implies that you don't!)...yeah, it's a little bit troubling, but full to the brim of deeper meaning.

Another great piece from you, Joy!

I'm sure most of us have been there, Joy, for one reason or another. You've expressed it well.
