Without Words

Three words in which to say
What I feel for you
But do you think I can say them?
No, I can’t it’s true

I can make the strong man
Weep tears of joy or sorrow
My words can tell a story of
A yesterday or tomorrow

My dictionary and thesaurus
Hold the words within their covers
Those words I’ve read countless times
Written by so many others

Do you think I can write them
Here upon this page in black
Or will they stay upon my lips
Unsaid, so I can’t take them back

If you knew how much I need
To tell you how I feel
If only I had those three words
My love I could reveal.

hard sometimes to say them, aye?  but if you keep the words to yourself, the people you love may never know...    < !signature-->

Never know what kind of place those key words will open and unlock when they are spoken to unlock the door to the secret of our own heart.

Those words can sometimes be the hardest of all to say. Excellent poem, Sharon.

Somethings may be hard to say, but better to share how you feel than keep it inside!
Hmmn, 3 words...I forgive you? I love you? I hate you? You bore me? You stress me!?
LOL I could go on and on here but I won't

I love it!

Awesome Sharon!
I think you've said it, as the title implies, "Without words". Excellent!

Sometimes, actions speak louder than words...maybe they already know how you feel.
This is quite a touching piece.  You have a way with words.

Thank you all for your kind words. I wondered what would happen if a poet had all the words at her disposal but still couldn't put them to good use..after all, words are our 'business'...hmmm  thanks again.

Gather up your courage and SAY THEM!!!!  For it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved.....have to risk to get the just rewards, my friend.  Courage and strength be with you!!

Wierd how it seems  hardest  to say those three little words  when you know for a fact that is how you feel ... Good job!

Three little words:

I am you?
You are me?

Oh sugar that's more than three.

Great poem

Three words that spell out how one feels. Yet sometimes the hardest to say. Beautiful

Poet deVine,
"Without Words". Your poem so true and a good reminder. Hard words (for me) to say sometimes, especially to people I love the most and need to say, although already
knowing! Thank you for this one.  marcy

Sometimes I find it more difficult to keep the words in. They fall out of my mouth at the most inopportune moments.
Beautiful words, whether said or not..

there are certain things that words will never be able to fully express especially love. You can write the greatest love poem ever but only you will know what that love feels like, if you can feel the love in your heart then you do not need words to express it. That said thank you for expressing your poem and sharing it with the forum, a wonderful piece.
