Before I had ever seen an airplane
Run down a runway
Lifting off purposely into the sky
Drawing in it's ground wheels
Sailing, soaring
Vanishing from sight

I flew..
Because..
I desired to
Without aid
Of steel mechanics
I spread my arms
Out from my side
I drew my legs up
To my torso
And with the lightness
Of a butterfly
I flew over houses
Land and sea
Flying only
Because..
I knew I could
In your dreams
No one tells you
You can't
And if they had
I would have said
JUST watch me!

I enjoyed this a lot.  Soaring through the sky by means of myself and the wind only sounds great.  And, yes, in dreams anything is possible!!!

I've always wanted to fly.  I think it would be an amazing feeling up there above the clouds, with the wind, and...oh, don't get me started I could go on for hours.

dgvarner, Now my secret is out I still am a child of 51, maybe starting on my second childhood. Never thought of a children's book, you want to illustrate it! Some glad morning when this life is or, I'll fly away just popped into my head. Free flying, sound wonderful to me, I always did envy the birds!
