When I choose to connect with life
my soul is filled with song.
I laugh, I hope, I dream -
I dance, I love, I long.

Quiet breeze caresses my face
and brings gentleness anew.
Moonbeams rest upon my shoulders
as a silken cape would do.

The moon creates a soft glow
upon my moist, warm skin.
Sand becomes cool slippers
to wrap my feet within.

Stars glowing far overhead
cast out a shine so bright,
piercing through the deepest dark,
pinpoints of brilliant light.

Water lapping at my ankles,
delightful, teasing play.
When I reach out to the life force,
I'm always touched this way.

I love the images you provide her, my favorite line is, "Sand becomes cool slippers
to wrap my feet within." I can really feel that line as well as see myself doing it. Used to be a beach bum, maybe that helps.

Ohhh how very beautiful,i like the way you speak of the moonbeams as a silver cape....that's very original.....a very peaceful enigmatic poem. i adore it. I love nature, and the night so this was really one i could get lost in. GREAT WORK

Certainly was a beautiful poem. You caught my attention with your opening line-"When I choose to connect with life..." We do all have that choice, don't we? I was waiting for the darker side to immerge and tell us what it's like when you choose not to connect with life. Another poem, perhaps? Enjoyed it.

Lovely poem.

I especially liked:

The moon creates a soft glow
upon my moist, warm skin.
Sand becomes cool slippers
to wrap my feet within.

great closure too. well done!
