I wish I were a bird If even for a day The thoughts not so absurd Or strange in any way I could be a raven Or perhaps even the dove I'm not a silly lamen But I want to rise above To be caught up in the skies And the view of sun drenched trees I could be as sharp as eagles eyes And know all that he sees As large as the largest crow Or as small as the tiny finch As fleeting as the sparrow Oh on these dreams I clench I'd be an angel if I had wings Sent to teach you of His words But me, I'm not to do those things I'd rather fly on with the birds |
