Now don't get me wrong,
I'm no Twiggy.

Couldn't be if I tried,
Although I DO try,
Me and Oprah.

Done the diets,
Explored with Freud,
Researched my past.
Still fat.

What doesn't work?
Black clothes
Hitting the drive-thru
Grapefruit
Giving away the scales
Sweatpants.

The sizes creep up,
even my shoes!
Forget the pool or beach.

Ah--wait--the light shines!
There is hope--I lost a pound.
Maybe I have it now,
the answer.

Oh my--Whats this,
I'm losing it, weight that is.
(maybe my mind too)

My body says thank you,
My mirror blesses me now,
I want to see another generation,
or 2.

Hi Patricianne, welcome to Passions and to the Pub! Your poem is great! I'm glad you are having success at last! I know it is a struggle to shed each pound and then to keep them from coming back.

I'm with you on this one! It is a struggel, the battle of the bulge, but it is worth it. I recently joined WW and have lost 23 pounds, and my body is thanking me too.

Ahh..the joys of dieting, loosing weight and keeping it off. Does it get more difficult as you get older. Thats what I'd like to know. LOL! Before its too late for me.

Congratulations to you..    I'm glad you're making headway..    And wonderful poem.

I awake to a world I don't want. There is no transition for me. I am in heaven. I am in hell.
