I stand  here today
  to make you this vow
And I just pray
  you'll understand it somehow
of course I promise to love you
  through sickness and health
And I will still cherish you
  through poverty and wealth
But On this our wedding day
what ever I may say or do
  I  don't think I could portray
How much I really love you
So I want you to know
that I'm for real
   no matter what I show
or how you may feel

I am writing a poem for my sister, which will be getting married in one month, And I wanted to write a pem for her, And this is not all of it, but I wanted to know If you all think i am on the right track, please, I would love some suggestions.

                            thanx alot!

I think the happy couple will love your poem.

This is lovely, so far! I think a poem is a wonderful wedding gift for the couple. Also, at my daughters' weddings, I wrote each a poem and had it laminated for them and also had copies made for each of the guests, rolled up like a scroll with a ribbon tied around it (in the color of the wedding party). Everyone loved them!

On the right track, staying away from the obvious and mushy stuff. What a wonderful keepsake too. Please post it all, if you feel like it, lots of people will want to hear it all I bet.

This is excellent so far. I am sure they will adore it.   I think its great, also, that you want to write a poem for them.

So sorry I missed this one the first time around, I tend to do that more often than not.  I agree with JTC, the happy couple will absolutly love the poem.  Let us know how it turns out, and tell your sister best wishes!
