Eyes seeking
for a way to connect.
Searching desperately
for a way in.

Looking outward,
I see many souls.
Looking inward,
I see only darkness.

Darkness shatters
with the touch of a light
held aloft
by the love of my life.

She walks
so softly, so quietly
bringing me back
another dose of her peace.

Content in life,
but striving further
each day.

She helps me see
that my darkness
is now gone.

Replaced with
hope sprung anew,
she guides me down
paths renewed.

She is my world,
my life, my joy;
She is the one true thing
for whom I toil.

She has found my soul
and given it back to me.
Love please heal
this tortured heart.

Scared and scarred,
afraid to try;
I open my heart
to her probing eyes.

She sees inside me,
finding only pain.
For I had lost
my one true friend.

She makes me feel
renewed in strength,
for her I pray
and give thanks

Beautiful poem epoet!! Slightly melencholy and i love it that way....i am one who delights in poetry of darker shades and even though this one isn't really dark,it expressed some dark emotions...really like it!!

thank you for the flattery. Romance is a lost art in this world, except to those of us who can't help but be totally in love with someone.
