I have a cradle of hope
A basket of dreams
In which I am placing
All my grandmother dreams

As each child of ours
Was finished playing with toys
I se aside a special one
For future bundles of joys

Now that our children are all grown
Married and happy
I'm just waiting to hear
Good news from afar

I really don't care
If it is to be girl or boy
Just so it's healthy
Either way it will bring lots of joy

So until I pick up the phone
And hear some good news
I'm hoping and praying
Someday a grandparent I'll be

Meantime..
I'm filling a cradle
With my hopes and my dreams
Remembering old lullabies
Humming their tunes
Gently rocking the cradle

Beautiful.
I have no other words but those..I hope it is enough.

This is beautiful, Septsong! I wish I had thought to save a few of my girls' things like that for their children. That's a very sweet idea! I hope you hear that good news real soon! I have two grandchildren now and they are such a blessing in my life!

Septsong, Congradulations to be! You will make a terrific grandmother one day. Look at all the tender care put into each one, yet unborn. Sweet and tender, your poem. marcy

Your song is sweet and full of joy
Be it for ...a girl or boy
What more can a mother do
Than want to be a grandma.....like YOU

Best Wishes

Beautiful. Any one to have you in their lives must indeed be lucky.

Congratulations! I know you'll have a wonderful time, and that baby will be very lucky, too.
