As I lie here, and wonder under where
A tree stands high,
Which now is bare,
Then look down at my open fly,
And wonder if I’m wearing any underwear,

I wonder, and wonder where,
O, where, has gone my underwear.

Then, I thought about the tree
Which stood so bold,
As if it had been mocking me,
And wondered if it felt a little cold,
Standing there without its leafy skivvies.

So, I gazed back up at the tree,
And, hanging there,
For all the world to see,
Was my stolen underwear,
Dangling in the breeze.

Then, I noticed the other trees;
In their branches, other people’s BVDs,
And, beneath each tree, under where,
Other people were lying there,
With their dreams of stolen underwear.

It often comes to me at night,
When lights are dim, and thoughts are bright,
As I ponder what to write,
Take pen in hand, and with it make
My words appear as no mistake.
Guided by a force unknown,
I create a new and wondrous poem. ~Gene~

Such wonderful commando of the language...

Thanks Everyone,

Glad you all enjoyed the humor in this, but I wrote it as a deep philosophical and psychological treatise on the human spirit.

I'm always coming up with weird metaphors for life to share with my friends, they seem to get a real kick out of me comparing life to cream of chicken soup and such....i think i'll share this with them too!! LOL....great poem, you're a real master of the art =P

Gene,

This was GREAT.  I really needed a laugh and this poem surely provided it.  Enjoyed this very much.
