Could Be Anywhere...

Discarded, No More

Working on guys stuff
tearing through garage.
Frantic to find a bolt
just the size needed.

Went through the stashes
secondary, hidden and back-up.
Don't even want to go, advoiding
weekend hardware store hell.

Walking away sad and resigned
when; Lo, what is this?
There she lays, kinda funky
could it be, are we saved?

Partially hidden in weed
mostly darkened by shadow
Rust and grime encrusted
exactly the bolt that is needed!

How about that?
quick dunk in oil
buffed about the grinder wheel
hallelujah! She is usefull again!

Perhaps like life; I pause to reflect
this simple bolt resurrection.
Unused, discarded then found and used
are we re-claimed with a job to do?

*claps*  Wonderful..

MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU,
MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK
MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE
THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS
AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN,
MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND

thanks for the imput,
although i felt this
piece to be rather
sub-standard, seems a bit
hurried and contrived to me.
But as they say one is generally
one's harshest critic...
i am heartened that y'all
enjoyed it, thank you.

This is wonderful. You just went into automatic and not discarded. Great job.

You are your biggest critique!! Although I think I prefer your poem that you got published. This one was very good too though!

Love and hugs,
Lizzie
