It’s Lilac Day It’s Lilac day! The tree’s in bloom It’s lovely fragrance we’ll consume The house will fill with sweet perfume It’s Lilac day today! This is true my favorite day I feel content in every way Just like a little girl at play Because it’s Lilac day It’s my favorite time of year When Lilac flowers first appear I don my gloves and garden shear And laugh along the way Everyone has little things That make the heart with pleasure sing That set off special bells to ring For me it’s Lilac day I go outside with giddy grin Just bubbling from the joy within Let’s breath in life and take it in Enjoy this Lilac day I am a Lilac gatherer My sharpened shear will scavenger The light and dark of lavender Oh yes!, It's Lilac day! Let me have my silly way But I’ll come in with full bouquet And you will love the fine display And Lilac’s fragrant day Elizabeth Santos Elizabeth Santos |

Lovely poem! I can't say I know what lilacs smell like...I haven't ever seen one. Liz, please write a poem describing a lilac so I can see and smell one through you...
